As the Principal Data Scientist, you will report to the Head of Business Lending Analytics & Data Science B&PB Analytics. You will partner closely with the B&PB business and DD&A teams, translating business problems into scalable analytical products, actionable insights and decision-ready recommendations that improve how NAB serves and delivers for its customers.

You’ll make an impact each day by:

• Leading the design, development and deployment of analytical products, data science solutions and AI-enabled capabilities
• Guiding the migration and evolution of analytical products onto NAB's strategic data platforms
• Delivering commercial insights and recommendations that inform product development, customer proposition and risk management strategies. 
• Leading the design of innovative solutions that drive better customer outcomes, drive growth, increase efficiency and simplify processes.
• Leading and uplift Analytics & Insights capability, establishing best practice in statistical analysis, experimentation, measurement frameworks and hypothesis-driven problem solving.
• Partnering closely with business, data and technology stakeholders to create automated, production-ready analytical processes and self-serve solutions.

We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

• Proven experience delivering advanced analytics, statistical modelling, or machine learning within complex organisational environments
• Experience in developing analytical products and models using Python, R, SQL and modern cloud data platforms.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and executive communication skills, with the ability to translate analytical findings into meaningful business insights and actions.
• Proven leadership of high-performing technical teams.
• Structured problem solving and value-based decision making.
• Strategic mindset, demonstrable curiosity
• Strong understanding of risk, governance and production-ready analytical solutions.
