As an Associate Director, you will join the Tax team that’s focused on winning together.

In this Associate Director role, you will

  • Be responsible for assessing the impact of tax law development / legislative change and developing the strategy, tax policy and processes for the organisation to address the changes. This includes dialogue with the business, finance and other Group Tax Function areas as applicable.
  • Advising on the tax implications focusing on international tax aspects including tax transfer pricing and BEPS Pillar 2.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of tax return technical workpapers and the effective implementation of tax advice in the NAB income tax return.
  • Actively advocate NAB’s tax policies, frameworks and risk settings throughout the organisation, ensuring that key stakeholders have sufficient awareness of the policies and risk management processes.
  • Ensure tax controls are effective and operated in line with policy requirements.
  • Establish and foster strong relationships within the business and key stakeholders including Treasury function, Corporate and Institutional Banking, Business & Private Banking and Markets and NAB’s offshore branches and subsidiaries.
  • Act of behalf of NAB to lobby the Government, ATO and Industry bodies for the development or administration of fair and equitable tax legislation and administration.

Your Capabilities, Experience & Qualifications will include:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills where you can establish and foster strong relationships with both the business and the finance community to effectively provide tax advice and manage tax advice implementation.
  • Experience in the provision of tax advice for complex financial arrangements and business acquisitions.
  • Strong tax technical skills with specialist tax experience working in a chartered accounting firm or corporate role with a financial services and/or international tax law background.
  • Experience with engaging industry bodies around tax reform and industry tax issues.
  • International and transfer pricing experience will be well regarded.
  • Undergraduate qualification (Law, Financial or Commercial preferred) with post graduate qualifications.
  • Proven ability to handle and coordinate multiple competing deliverables; and capability to work in a fast-paced, at times ambiguous and complex environment.
