In the role of Senior Specialist, First Nations Business - Queensland, join the Specialist Business Banking Team in Brisbane and play a pivotal role in growing NAB's Indigenous Business & Community specialisation across the state. You will partner with internal stakeholders and customers to deliver tailored banking solutions that support economic development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, communities and organisations.
You'll make an impact each day by:
- Driving growth across NAB's First Nations Business & Community specialisation through business development, relationship management and customer acquisition activities.
- Supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, Registered Traditional Owners, Land Councils, Statutory Bodies and community organisations with tailored banking solutions.
- Partnering with Business Banking, Regional & Agribusiness, Small Business and specialist banking teams to identify opportunities and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
- Collaborating with Credit, Customer Lending Solutions, Fulfilment and Product partners to structure and implement complex banking solutions.
- Acting as NAB's ambassador within First Nations communities, industry forums and government networks to strengthen relationships and generate business opportunities.
- Supporting capability uplift across NAB through Indigenous Business & Community Banker accreditation initiatives.
- Maintaining a strong risk culture while balancing customer outcomes and commercial objectives.
You'll bring to this role:
- A demonstrated understanding of, or deep commitment to learning about, the cultural, political and commercial landscape impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
- Demonstrated business banking experience with strong commercial acumen and customer relationship management capability.
- Strong financial analysis skills, including experience assessing complex customer opportunities and preparing credit recommendations.
- Proven business development skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and generate new opportunities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
- The ability and willingness to travel as required across Queensland to support customers and community engagement activities.
- Experience translating strategic customer opportunities into practical banking solutions through effective stakeholder partnerships.
- The ability to build authentic relationships with Indigenous businesses, community groups and industry organisations.
- Extensive experience within financial services, including business banking, corporate banking, credit or specialised banking environments.
- Previous experience in portfolio management, credit decisioning and customer lending submissions
