Ubank is growing, and we currently have an opportunity for a senior lawyer to join the NAB legal team as a Senior Legal Counsel – Ubank on a fixed term contract.
You will give commercial, customer-focused, strategic advice to our Ubank business partners to support the delivery of innovative technology, award winning products and market leading customer experiences.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

Provide quality, commercial, customer-focused legal advice to our business stakeholders.

Support Ubank meet its strategic goals in a way that meets legal and regulatory requirements and effectively manages risk.

Support simplification and process improvement initiatives in the business and in legal.
We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers, you’ll need:

A Bachelor of Laws, and be admitted to legal practice in Australia.

Approximately 7 years + PQE as a lawyer at a firm or in-house.

Experience in financial services law, including some, or all, of the following:
-
the National Consumer Credit Protection Act and National Credit Code.

Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act (deposits and/or investment products).

Relevant industry codes.

The ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Be curious, honest and respectful. You will own your work, doing what’s right, even when it’s hard.

The experience and maturity to work autonomously, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Excellent organisational skills, and the ability to juggle competing demands in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
