In this influential role as the Manager, Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Governance, 12 month fixed term contract, you’ll help ensure NAB meets its legislative and regulatory obligations as a self‑insurer under the Comcare scheme, while shaping how safety and wellbeing support performance, culture and engagement across the enterprise.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
Lead the design and delivery of NAB’s HSW Governance framework.

Drive continuous improvement of our Safety Management System (SMS), including our HSW risk frameworks, policies and procedures.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

Oversee our Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure strong risk management, legal compliance and performance outcomes.

Work closely with Senior Leaders, Legal, Risk and external regulators, to provide strategic advice to drive consistent and effective governance outcomes.

Design and deliver our internal and external audit and assurance program.

Prepare impactful reports for Boards and Leadership teams that provide meaningful insights on HSW performance.

Lead regulatory engagement with Comcare, including inspections, reviews and requests for information.

Provide advice on third party risk management activities to ensure effective identification and management of HSW risks.

Oversee the ongoing uplift of HSW obligations and controls in our enterprise risk management system.

Drive continuous improvement activities to simplify and enhance HSW systems and processes.

Coach members of the HSW team to ensure effective implementation of the SMS and risk management frameworks within each area of the business.
We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:
-
Deep working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act (2011) and regulatory frameworks.

Extensive experience in HSW advisory and governance roles, ideally within large organisations.
- Experience undertaking risk reviews and SMS audits.

Proven capability designing and implementing policies, procedures and risk management frameworks at scale.

Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills.

Commercial mindset with the ability to balance risk, compliance and business outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or related discipline (Legal, Risk).
