In this Distinguished Engineer role, you will join the Technology and Business Lending team that’s doubling down on customer obsession.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

• Define and champion engineering standards, architectural patterns, and design principles across the business lending domain, ensuring consistency, security, and scalability.
• Lead the design and delivery of complex, high-criticality systems — from core banking platforms to customer-facing products — making principled decisions on technology choices, trade-offs, and long-term maintainability.
• Remain an active, hands-on engineer: contributing to codebases, performing code reviews, and prototyping solutions to demonstrate best practice and validate architectural decisions.
• Provide technical guidance on modern software engineering practices including domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, API design, microservices, and cloud-native development.
• Identify systemic weaknesses in the domain— in testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, security posture, technical debt, or resiliency — and develop strategic plans to address them.
• Partner with the Domain Architect, technology leaders and product executives to shape the multi-year technology strategy, contributing deep engineering expertise to investment decisions and capability roadmaps.
• Uplift engineering maturity of the engineers within the domain through coaching and learning events (eg hackathons, tiger teams etc).

• Prior experience in Technical Leadership roles, spanning across multiple teams
• Extensive experience in application development roles
• Technical Domain expertise
• Expert software engineering
• Experience in solution design and architectural strategy
