The role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned People Leader to coach, lead and motivate a team of experienced Home Lending Specialist Bankers to ensure a world-class service is delivered to our customers and responsible lending protocols are fully adhered to. You will lead a team of lenders across a Local area market to drive exceptional customer outcomes. You will be a passionate experienced leader who works well with stakeholders has a passion for business development. You will be driven by helping bankers deliver signature customer experiences and be obsessed with turning customers into raving fans.
Your opportunity
The Manager, Proprietary Home Lending leads a committed sales and service team within a local area market to build strong and sustainable shareholder returns. The role is responsible for overall management of Home Loan Specialists who provide home lending solutions to Retail customers. Key performance indicators include improving speed to competency, sales proficiency across home lending and everyday banking, lender quality, operational excellence, and customer experience outcomes.
The role and Day to day will include:
You will observe and coach your Bankers to confirm they engage in high quality customer conversations that clearly establish and verify a customers’ financial position and needs.
You will also oversee Banker funnel management and support them in providing our customers with a seamless and exceptional experience. Further responsibilities of this influential role include:
- Responsible for the onboarding, coaching, and training of Home Loan Specialists
- Use strong relationship and coaching skills to achieve business goals through the leadership of people and other key stakeholders including the development of quality internal and external networks.
- Accountable for the effective deployment of resources within their team including career/succession planning, staff leave, management and recruitment
- Manage operational and legislative risk effectively and have a genuine focus on continuous improvement and executional excellence
- Foster a collaborative and open communication environment within the team. Encourage regular team meetings, provide updates on company and industry developments, and facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices among team members.
- Encourage and support the professional development of team members. Make decisions regarding training opportunities, and career advancement pathways.
- Role model of Distinctive Leadership and coaching to implement and embed PHL Ways of Working
- Make decisions regarding hiring new team members based on their skills, experience, and cultural fit
- Setting clear and measurable goals for the team aligned with organisational KPI’s
- Determine the optimal structure for the home lending team. Allocate resources effectively to ensure efficient operations and customer service across your local area market
- Monitor individual and team performance, make decisions regarding performance feedback Including: recognition, incentives, and performance improvement plans as necessary
What skills & experience will I bring?
- 8+ years' experience in retail/commercial banking and/or credit assessment & management, with a proven track record in sales and a passion for customer service
- Relevant compliance and sales/service leadership training including lending accreditation
- Sound knowledge and skills in Banking regulations, practices, and procedures; credit assessment and associated issues; full range of Bank products; Company / commercial law; Accounting principles and practices
- High levels of individual performance and the ability to know how to get that performance from a diverse team.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven track record of achieving results through people
- The ability to lead group discussions, identify future business opportunities and implement complex national strategic plans.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with all potential business partners and stakeholders to meet acceptable mutual objectives and plans.
