The Home Ownership & Everyday Banking Legal team works closely with NAB’s Home Ownership Domain to help drive simplification of the end-to-end home lending journey across the NAB and Advantage brands. The team also works closely with NAB’s Everyday Banking Domain to assist with developing a world class transaction and savings account proposition.
The main challenge of the role will be to ensure that the respective Domains are getting simpler and more customer and banker focussed whilst still meeting legal and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with a supportive team of talented lawyers to ensure stakeholders receive timely legal support to deliver great outcomes for NAB and its customers.
In this role, you will:
- Advise on product and process simplification initiatives to make both Domains faster, more resilient and more customer focused.
- Deliver accurate, strategic and timely legal advice to ensure that business initiatives are delivered safely and in line with regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate a passion for customers to help drive better customer experiences and outcomes in relation to home loans and transaction and savings account products.
- Identify process improvements and efficiencies to uplift our ways of working.
What you’ll bring:
You are an experienced lawyer who thrives on legal excellence and professionalism in actively managing legal risk in line with commercial and strategic priorities.
- Minimum 10 years PQE as a lawyer at a legal firm or in-house
- Bachelor of Laws qualification and admission to legal practice in Australia
- Demonstrated experience in advising on financial services regulatory matters (including National Consumer Credit Protection Act and/or Corporations Act requirements) essential
- Effective stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and partnering approach
- Excellent organisational skills, including prioritisation and time management
