We’re looking for highly energetic and passionate Senior professional with a deep understanding of the businesses, their drivers, and opportunities for growth.

As the Head of Personal Bank Deposits Finance, you will support the PEB and Deposits business to drive strategic performance outcomes for the portfolio. Using your sound understanding of the business, you will work alongside the business as its finance partner to seek key drivers and opportunities for growth. You will lead a team to provide quality commercial insight, analysis and recommendations in order to driver business performance.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Own the end-to-end PEB and Deposits financial control and governance environments.
  • Support the PEB Executive, PEB LT and Deposits Executives to grow the business, align with our strategic ambition and ensure transformation / simplification are achieved in a sustainable and co-ordinated manner.
  • Translate the strategy of the business into functionally effective plans. Provide overall direction to leadership teams to ensure development and delivery of objectives / initiatives within the strategic parameters.
  • Constructively challenging managements proposals and decisions, providing advice to LTs on critical decisions and trade-offs.
  • Support the delivery of business strategies, through business case reviews and approvals, driving the business to meet benefits profiles.
  • Deliver high quality commercial insights and advice to drive performance improvement. Identify financial and non-financial performance trends through critical review and analysis and develop and recommend strategies to improve business performance.
  • Delivery of all internal reporting that supports the business.
  • Support the production of half yearly and annual reporting requirements.
  • Lead, coach and develop a diverse team, creating and fostering a feedback culture and a psychologically safe environment, track results and provide clear follow up and feedback.

Your Capabilities, Experience & Qualifications will include:

  • Ability to navigate through complex cross enterprise matters and operating environment.
  • Strong strategic focus and be able to communicate with influence.
  • Profound experience in Senior Leadership positions in the banking and finance industry.
  • Knowledge and experience within commercial finance / Financials Services.
  • Experience in Senior Finance roles developing performance systems and driving performance that achieve superior customer, colleague, and commercial outcomes.
  • Capable with the right talent, time, tools, and skills to do their work, with leaders expected to manage resources (people, budgets, assets and time) effectively and coach teams to build competence and confidence.
  • Deep understanding of retail banking, including Deposits & Unsecured Lending.
  • Substantial experience with stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Sound experience in Finance roles, including roles in budgeting and reporting, and financial control roles.
  • Proven ability to challenge at all levels, supported by data and analytics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other relevant tertiary and post-graduate qualifications, CA, CPA, CFA or MBA.
