As the Senior Manager Fraud Strategy, you will have a unique role in that there is no people leadership with this opportunity, but you will be accountable for setting and embedding the strategy for Fraud Operations, whilst managing legislative and government requirements, and ensuring a healthy operating model internally for NAB and safeguarding our customers across the enterprise.

You’ll successfully achieve these operating outcomes by leveraging your extensive Fraud industry knowledge, and be an enabler of change by uplifting standards, automation, and customer experience. Whilst also educating and integrating other centres of excellence i.e., Financial Crime, Technology, on the difference but importance of Fraud Regulations.

In this role you will

  • Drafting, implementing, and monitoring of Fraud Operations (FO) Strategies and ensuring alignment with Enterprise strategies (Scams Strategy, Tech, Edge, EO etc)
  • Leading external industry engagement in relation to fraud and scams to ensure NAB is positioned as a well-respected and active leader across the industry. Includes regulatory & government engagement on Fraud & Scams (e.g., Scams code, NASC etc.)
  • Co-ordinate FO & Enterprise response to material value fraud & scam events (with investigation support from internal teams).
  • Attend customer divisions monthly meetings to present material events to discuss opportunities to improve processes efficiencies across Fraud operations and customer divisions. & ensure improvement opportunities is embedded in the business
  • Co-ordination of FO involvement in internal Fraud & Scam forums across the Enterprise (customer forums, fraud forums etc.). Includes support and facilitation of FO led forums.
  • Acting as FO primary point of contact for the new Anti-Fraud Policy including providing input and supporting the drafting of the document.

What you will bring

  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in specialist fraud and scam prevention, detection and operations roles, focal specific digital fraud, and scams.
  • Sound understanding ideally of banking/finance industry, including drivers of value/risk/constraints/controls, associated regulation, technology, and customer experience.
  • Strong strategic thinking, and business acumen with ability to solve complex problems whilst working across multiple streams of work.
  • The role requires a high degree of autonomy, effective presentation coaching and influencing skills at executive and senior level management and enable influence change/impact behaviours.
  • Associated AOM Certification, ACFE qualifications – desirable
