The Role:

This position is with the Corporate Advisory Legal team who provides legal support and advice to the NAB Group on a diverse range of strategic matters including M&A, strategic alliances, joint ventures, equity investments and other advice relating to corporate law issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with various internal teams to enable strategies of the NAB Group in relation to M&A, strategic alliances, joint ventures and equity investments
  • Advising the NAB Group on a range of corporate law and governance issues, such as listing rule issues, public disclosures, directors’ duties, shareholder issues and equity incentive schemes
  • Liaising with external parties, such as lawyers, regulators and counterparties, in relation to legal aspects of these activities

What you will bring:

You are a motivated and experienced corporate/M&A lawyer who has enjoyed transactional work in private practice and now wants to be part of a high quality in-house team.

You have excellent stakeholder management expertise, underpinned by first class communication and influencing skills. A highly motivated individual who strives to consistently provide high quality, commercially relevant legal services, you also have:

  • Admission to practice law in Australia, with a minimum of 4+ years PQE
  • Good depth of knowledge in M&A, joint ventures, equity investments and general corporate legal advice
  • Strong technical skills, quality academic results and a demonstrated track record of managing M&A transactions at a leading law firm
  • Ability to balance legal and commercial considerations
  • Experience in the financial services sector would be ideal, but not a prerequisite
