The Role:

The role is focussed on providing a reliable and efficient system accounting and reconciliation services to stakeholders. Will drive and support system related design, build, planning, strategy, testing, implementations, and system control functions to meet business requirements.

The role and Day to day will include:

  • Ensuring data and system value reconciliations and controls are designed and executed effectively to achieve daily SLA’s
  • Identifying and managing reconciliation issues and facilitating their closure
  • Provide consultative input into projects and ensure integrity of delivery into BAU environment
  • Own and maintain reconciliation and control frameworks for associated assets and processes
  • Collaborate with key business and finance stakeholders and external/internal auditors
  • Assist in implementing change initiatives and updating process documents
  • Identify areas for process and efficiency improvement; recommend solutions and help the team with implementation. Actively facilitate continuous improvement.

What you will bring: 

Essential capabilities

  • Technical knowledge and acumen to understand the nature and impact of change and operations on effectiveness and integrity of system value reconciliations and control
  • Strong knowledge of policies, regulations and obligations relating to reconciliation and value control within the context of technology and the business operations that it supports.
  • Proven ability to use relevant data analytics approaches and tools to problem-solve and trouble-shoot ambiguous issues. Knowledge of SQL and/or python is an advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency with ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines
  • Passionate to learn legacy systems and be an advocate for transformation to new technology
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset to challenge the status quo and streamlining processes
  • Stakeholder Management and Interpersonal skills

Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in system and technical accounting and knowledge in reconciliations, value control and data analytics principles
  • 2 years’ SME (subject matter expert) demonstrated knowledge and experience in successfully managing technology change impact on effectiveness of system value reconciliation, system accounting and value controls.  Prior recognition as ‘trusted advisor’ to the business is an advantage

Qualification Requirements

  • CPA/CA/CFA qualified is preferred
