As the Associate Director, you will join the Controls & Obligation Monitoring team that has the enterprise mandate to deliver on its annual integrated compliance obligations and controls testing plan. You’ll play a leadership role in shaping how NAB delivers independent assurance and insight across its regulatory obligations.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly visible role that sits at the intersection of customer protection, regulatory compliance and organisational influence.
Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:
- Partner with the Senior Manager and Head Of to deliver high‑quality testing, applying strong knowledge of controls, risks and regulatory management.
- Deliver value-adding insights, recommendations and thematic observations, including clear reporting to stakeholders.
- Build and manage trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and demonstrate ability to influence outcomes with confidence and professionalism.
- Contribute towards continuously enhancing monitoring methodologies, productivity and ways of working.
- Provide effective and constructive challenge to stakeholders on identified gaps and weaknesses.
- Provide indirect people leadership to a team of controls testers to ensure outcomes are integrated to obligation tested.
We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Law or a related discipline
- Proven experience in Audit, Assurance, Risk and Compliance ideally within financial institutions or professional service firms.
- Hands‑on experience executing assurance, monitoring processes and testing programs.
- Professional certifications such as CA / CPA / CIA / CISA or other relevant risk management accreditations are highly regarded
- The ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes at senior levels.
- Strong analytical capability, sound judgement and intellectual curiosity.
