The Government, Education and Community Team provides dedicated financial solutions to the government, education (schools and childcare), not-for-profit, community, religious and alternate housing sectors. To continue delivering banking excellence across these sectors, NAB is seeking an experienced banking professional to join our specialists banking team. A banker who is passionate about growing and building relationships with clients, delivering the right outcomes – client, financial and risk – and meeting the rising community expectations of banks.

In the role of an Associate Director, Childcare presents an exciting opportunity for you to lean on your natural ability to be innovative and strategic to ensure success within the Childcare sector. Working within a team of highly capable bankers, who are experts across the GEC specialised sectors, you will collaborate extensively with this banker network and support functions, both in VIC and interstate. Central to this high-paced role is the responsibility for developing the strategy and delivering the customer value proposition and segmentation, gathering industry and customer insights, fostering and collaborating with industry networks, and keeping up to date on industry policy and the macro environment.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

  • Personally manage and develop a portfolio of clients that are listed and emerging corporate sized entities, displaying strong Net Promoter Scores and maximised share of wallet.
  • Develop, lead and execute business development strategy, for both existing and new to bank customers, to ensure delivery of the Business & Private Bank business plan.
  • Work with the Complex Lending Solutions and Deal Structuring & Execution teams in the preparation of business lending proposals, including obtaining and analysing business and industry information, and ongoing portfolio management.
  • Utilise your complex lending skills and corporate-style engagement skills.
  • Support the delivery of the local area’s performance as measured through customer advocacy, financial metrics and employee engagement.
  • Continue to build your own, GEC and enterprise brand in both internal and external markets.

We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

  • A strong and demonstrated capability in credit analysis and debt structuring.
  • A broad knowledge of banking products and services, including transactional and e-commerce solutions, and how these can assist customers to grow their business and operate efficiently and successfully.
  • Proven ability to collaborate widely across various business units to obtain the best outcome for our customers.
  • Substantial experience gained via working in a major financial institution in business banking and/or relationship management.
  • Capability in building your own and enterprise brand in both internal and external markets.
