Privacy laws (such as the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)) mean that entities that collect personal information must explain how they handle the personal information of individuals including current employees, contractors, applicants for these roles and their referees.

This document explains the approach adopted by [Page Up] and the National Australia Bank Group "Group") to the collection and handling of your personal information.

Page Up and your Privacy

Be aware this website has been established and is maintained by Page Up under an agreement with the Group. The agreement requires Page Up to facilitate applications for and enquiries about positions with the Group through this website. This means Page Up collects your personal information through this website and passes that information on to the Group or any relevant entity within the Group. The Group or the relevant entity within the Group will then use that information to consider your suitability for positions within the relevant Group entity. Page Up will retain your information only as a contractor for Group and any requests for access should be passed on to the Group (as below).

Your personal information and privacy

The privacy of your personal information is important to us at the Group. The Group is the National Australia Bank Limited and its subsidiaries such as MLC Ltd. It includes all our banking, financing, funds management, financial planning, superannuation, insurance, broking and e-commerce organisations.

This statement is intended to be provided to all applicants for an employment or contract position ("Applicant"), referees and current employees and contractors throughout the Group.

Collecting your personal information

The purposes for which we collect your personal information will depend on whether you are an Applicant, a referee, a current employee or a contractor.

If you are either an Applicant or referee for an Applicant, the Group organisation will collect your personal information for the purposes of receiving and assessing the Applicant's application for an employment or contractor position. This may be done through a third party intermediary (such as Page Up).

If you are an employee or a contractor of a Group organisation, it will collect your personal information for the purposes of:

  • administering your employment or engagement;
  • monitoring your compliance with policies applicable to you (such as electronic communications policies); and
  • if you are a member, administering your membership of the National Staff Association.

If a Group organisation does not obtain the personal information it seeks:

  • if you are an Applicant or referee, the Group organisation may not be able to process the application;
  • if you are an employee or a contractor of a Group organisation, it may not be able to manage or administer your employment or engagement;
  • it may not be able to administer your membership if you are a member of the National Staff Association.
